A Trip to Changi Airport
Saturday, June 13, 2009 written @ 9:29 PM
Went to Changi Airport today cos someone hasn't been to the newly opened (1 year) Terminal 3 before... =x
Only upon reaching there, then I recalled going there isn't especially a good choice, with people returning from all over the world... dangerous... and especially not when I'm sick. LOL! Oops, I'm paranoid.
Well, there really isn't much at the airport to look at. Terminal 3 was super empty, with so few people around! The sales assistants are really all dying of boredom. But the good thing about T3 is that it's really spacious. At least it gives the feeling of walking in some place grand.
The view that you can see from the top few floors of the terminal was also great. When you look down, the flooring and lights make the view rather magnificent. But, the viewing mall at T3 was really horrible. There was such a big distance that's kind of blocked by railings and stuff. Totally no feeling of closeness at all. Not nice.
So we went on to Terminal 1, where there were more people obviously. The viewing mall there was cut by a big half, due to some renovation that was going on. Limited space, but still, we stayed there for about an hour or so...
After we left to go source for our dinner, we started bumping into people! First of all, while we were at T1, I suddenly caught a familiar face looking at me. Guess who? It was Kumar! Oh gosh... I was telling someone about it, and we quickly walked away, oops! =x
Went for dinner after that at the Crystal Jade at T3. The food there was nice! Really, and quite worth it too. Not very ex I guess... Our bill totaled to around $25 for 2 people. We each had a bowl of noodles, and shared 一笼小笼包. I kind of liked the deco there too, just that it's a tad too open, but still, not too bad...
So, here comes our 2nd occasion of bumping into people. When we sat down at Crystal Jade, I saw just 1 table away, yet another familiar face. I was asking someone, "Is that 陈丽贞 (Eileen Tan - Mediacorp actress)?"
Just as someone turned over to look and I was trying to have a second look, we saw her husband sitting down. When it happened, I was saying, "It is her, confirmed." LOL! Cos I remember my dad telling me that her husband is bald. =x
Throughout the whole of our dinner, someone kept looking over to his left to glance at them. I think the husband caught him doing that on several occasions, such that when they left, she kept looking at us! -_-lll If only my dad was there... hahaha...
Alright, so after dinner, we left and went down to the basement to take the bus back... Just nice to see 53 pass us. We went over to the directory just to make sure we're getting the right buses and take whichever comes first. At that time, there was a girl and her friend in front of us, looking at the guide.
Seriously, if I'm not wrong, I think that girl has acted in a few shows before. Most notably, is, her role in 同心圆, as... Yuan Yuan! When I told someone about it, he was saying, "You better not let Fiona know..." Damn, I regret not listening to him. LOL =x
She looks quite different, actually. Her hair is super long and nicely permed... and she's really quite tall. But I should think I haven't made a mistake in recognising her.
Oh yes, and another interesting thing happened along the way. While the bus was traveling from T3 to T1, the bus stopped somewhere inbetween, and a policeman walked up to do his routine screening, I guess.
Then at that time, there was this 2 huge luggage placed right beside me. So the policeman was asking me, "Whose is this?" I totally was too stunned to say anything. LOL! Then the owners at the back were raising their hands. Phew.
There was another check from T1 to T2 too, just that this policeman didn't question me. LOL...
Ok, this basically sums up my adventure for the day... Quite an interesting day, I would say. Bumping into so many people unexpectedly. Shall be back to update should there be more interesting happenings along the way... =)
