Uncle at Shokudo
Tuesday, May 25, 2010 written @ 11:04 PM
All it takes is an uncle for me to blog again...
Well, here's how the story goes...
This evening, we went to Shokudo (Raffles City) with the clique girls - Fiona, Madeline, Shirley, Sarah, Joan and Wai Ling! A whole night of fun and laughter - till my face almost cramped. Catching up with this crazy bunch is so much love... =)
So after dinner, we went about a whole great deal about the 'bermuda triangle'... (inside joke *winks*) before proceeding on to dessert!
After the meal, is of course our usual group photo taking session. So we got one of the uncle working there to help us take a group shot. The uncle came over and started by saying, "Must collect service charge!" So we all laughed and started saying that we'll give Sarah and -whoever was mentioned- to him, and he replied all 7 of us la! Somehow 7 of us became his daughters. LOL!
Well, so here comes our photo taking session... It went like this:
Uncle: "I'm very professional one!" (started shifting all the cups and whatever was blocking on the table to one side)
Us: "Hahaha! Ya lor..." (all of us posed and were smiling so ever readily for the camera)
*Waited... 1 minute later...*
Shirley: "Uncle, must say 1, 2, 3 ok!"
Uncle: (impatiently) "Ya, of course will say!"
*1 minute passed...*
Uncle: "1..." (5 seconds later)
"2..." (the seconds ticked by... we were trying so hard to control our giggles...)
(uncle puts down camera) "Eh you la! Why you move... No more square at your head, later no more head!"
All of us couldn't take it any longer and burst into laughter... Seriously, we were smiling until our cheeks almost cramped...
Ok, so try again... And the same scenario happened for like another 2-3 times, but it was still so funny each time cos the uncle kept harping on how our heads will disappear if the square (face detection) was not there.
Then Joan passed him her polaroid. After taking, we were crowding around the film and trying to see how it turned out. The uncle kept coming back to insist that we should blow on the photo to make the picture appear. LOL. Well, of course that Shirley kept saying that it sounds wrong.
Anyway, I have no idea how, the next moment... The uncle took the film. We thought he wanted to have a look at it. Who knows, he started walking off with it! All of us were left dumbfounded in our seats for a while before we started laughing again. We followed him with our eyes and he ended one whole round to somewhere behind us.
Guess what he did? He took a food tray and started fanning the photo for us! LOL! Super cute uncle that is... He was so hardworking in fanning the photo so seriously, we couldn't help but burst into laughter again.
Then when the chefs in the kitchen were asking what he was doing, he started telling them and showing off our photo to them... "There, my daughters!" LOL...
So when he returned the photo to us, we were commenting that he need to pay us for showing it to so many people... He turned back and started asking the chefs for money. HAHA!
Well, all in all, he was such a hilarious uncle. It really made all of our day with our cramping cheeks from the several bursts of laughter (despite many people turning over to stare), and it certainly is very heartwarming to see him trying so hard to take a proper photo for us with his almost trembling hands. Of course, not forgetting his epic fanning of the photo.
Really am super happy to be out there with the ever-so-crazy group of girls again (plus the uncle today). The laughter, the joy and the fun. Thanks Sarah, for organising (although the organiser herself was late by half an hour, leaving the 6 of us there waiting for her *ehem*).
I need more meet ups... =p
